Web developer - PHP programmer. ***POSITION CLOSED***
HostQuarters is looking for an individual interested in a contract position with a view to going long term.
While all of the attributes discussed below would be ideal, HostQuarters would be interested in speaking to anyone who can write PHP code to create a login form that checks login details against a MySQL database, and then creates a session if the login details are correct.

Additionally, HostQuarters has a 'can do' attitude. This means that we enjoy a variety of development work as we do not pigeon hole ourselves into churning out standard websites. 'We can do anything'... so long as our clients budget permits.
HostQuarters utilises open source technology, developing these and then giving back to the community to further develop software. Any developer wishing to produce work for HostQuarters must embrace this philosophy.

As an individual passionate about the internet and keeping abreast of emerging technologies, it is expected that you will be subscribed to web development newsletters. With your passion, would you be able to write an article for a non technical business owner to explain how these new technologies could assist their business?
HostQuarters requires an individual who can research open source products and tools available and select the best solution for a clients needs. Often these solutions will require customising and further development which will then need to be performed.
With 'service being everything', the successful applicant will have excellent telephone skills and be able to write documentation and emails without grammatical errors. The ideal person would be confident enough to stand in front of a small group and explain why a technology or solution would best suit them.
Above all else you must have a 'can do' attitude.
It is essential that you can handwrite html and css.
You must be able to write php code from scratch.
It would be beneficial if you can produce javascript to add dynamic effects to web pages.
You must be able to create MySQL databases.
An understanding of Apache would be great.
Experience using mod_rewrite would be nice.
This is entirely dependent upon experience. HostQuarters provides an environment whereby you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop your skills and the remuneration will be continously reviewed to keep in line with your skill set
You can expect the following:
$15 per hour (if you can only show examples of course work)
$20 per hour (if you can show some commercial experience)
$25 per hour (if you can show several commercial websites)
The above is a guideline only to illustrate the ballpark remuneration you could expect from HostQUarters. The successful candidate will be assessed based upon their efficiency building websites.
